Please read the advice given below from the Police on how to prevent crime from happening to you and what to do in the event that it does.

If you would like an alert to suspicious activity when I receive any information, please text me or pop your details through my door. You are the eyes and ears of this Village so if you see anything suspicious or out of the ordinary, people walking where they shouldn’t be or cars/cyclists repeatedly going up and down the same patch please alert the police on the correct number and me so I can pass the information around.

If you have moved or changed your contact details recently please let me know so I can update my records.

                                               

If you have an emergency call 999 or if you see anything suspicious call 101 to report it. Then please let me know via text* or call so I can send out an alert. (*text preferred as not always in.)

Due to this recent activity in the area, please be extra vigilant when locking up, even when in the garden or popping next door as these people are chancers!

Safer Neighbourhood Information - August 2016

West Mercia Police is appealing to the communities of South Shropshire to remain vigilant following a spate of rural burglaries in the area, which have targeted outbuildings, insecure barns and sheds during the hours of darkness.

Tools, farm machinery, and diesel are just some of the items which have been stolen by the criminals, and Crime Prevention Officers are urging residents to follow these simple security measures in order to reduce the risk towards their property.

· Ensure that all outbuildings are locked when not in use. Try using weatherproof padlocks and reversing the hinges on shed doors so that they cannot be unscrewed.

· Ensure tools and machinery are locked away and out of sight when not in use. As well as being at risk of theft, tools can be used to gain access to surrounding buildings.

· Do not leave keys or valuables in farm vehicles/machinery.

· Keep gates padlocked shut.

· Install solar-powered dusk-to-dawn lighting on outbuildings to deter intruders.

· Ensure any tools or valuables are security marked and display signs around your property to inform potential thieves.
